About:
Beverly Wolfe and I are Hazel & Violet. We are a small commercial letterpress shop in Phoenix, AZ. We also print stationery, cards, coasters and custom work. We print from a lot of vintage cuts and are currently enamored with black ink.

When did you start letterpress printing?: 
about 3 years ago
What do you like best about letterpress printing?: 
most everything - I like machinery, mechanical stuff and the business of letterpress. We are obsessed with paper, color, typography and reusing vintage equipment. Crazy about the 'oldness' of it all.
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?: 
We run a Chandler & Price NS 10x15 and a Heidelberg T Platen (windmill). In our gallery downtown we have a Potter#2 galley cylinder press and an old Challenge proof press. We have been printing mostly on Lettra - but are currently moving to Stonehenge
How would you describe your artwork?: 
We are not designers - we just love to print. We work with a few designers and are able to do custom work.
What kind of products do you create?: 
cards, stationery, coasters
Do you offer custom work?: 
yes
Where can we buy your products?: 
Etsy, some retail stores in AZ. Also we do lots of Fairs, Markets and Art Walks in AZ.
Do you offer workshops? If yes, what kind of?: 
We are going to offer some workshops this year at our downtown gallery.
Is there anything you wished you had known as a beginner?: 
everything
