hyc Creative is the creation of Dawn Hylon Lucas-Carlson. A small private press founded in 2006. We print Letterpress greeting cards, bookmarks, coasters, prints, and invitations using a mix of found vintage blocks and fonts, hand carved linoleum blocks and newly created designs. Everything is hand-printed on a Kelsey 6 x 10 Excelsior Press.

What do you like best about letterpress printing?: 
I like using my hands to create. I love using found type and blocks.

Other printers, vintage finds, Posters, Etsy
Which press(es), ink & paper do you usually use?: 
Kelsey Platen Excelsior 6 x 10, Faust Water Based Ink, Savoy #110 Tree free paper, Kraft recycled Card
How would you describe your artwork?: 
A mix of modern and vintage.
What kind of products do you create?: 
Mostly greeting cards, prints, and invitations.

Is there anything you wished you had known as a beginner?: 
I had a lot of ink issues in the beginning. I'd like to know more about eco water based inks that clean up with soap and water.
